About

Aubrey Drake Graham is Canadian actor, rapper and businessman. Affectionately known as ‘Drizzy’, this young superstar has come a long way from his days on the set of ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’. From small starts like the ‘Room for Improvement’ mixtape (2006) and his debut album ‘Thank Me Later’ (2010) to the massive scaling of his studio image with ‘Take Care’ (2011) and ‘Nothing Was The Same’ (2013), Drake grew his musical empire slowly but surely.

These initial albums showcased his emotion-laden lyricism well. The next few mixtapes that Drake released, namely ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ (2015) and ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ (2015), paired with the instant classic ‘Views’ (2016) solidified Drake’s position on the Billboard charts. His consistency with releases was impressive and led him to become one of the leading Canadian rappers of his time.

His most recent music includes his seventh album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ which has hit songs such as ‘Sticky’ and ‘Massive’  and ‘Her Loss’ which he released in 2022 and includes songs such as ‘Wait For U’ and ‘Jimmy Cooks’. His most recent album ‘Her Loss’ was certified platinum in 2023.  Drake founded the record label OVO sound in 2012. As well as releasing music, Drake also owns a fashion label (OVO), is a global ambassador of the Toronto Raptors and has founded a production company called ‘DreamCrew’.

Drake has won and been nominated for multiple music awards, including winning his first Grammy for his 2011 album ‘Take Care’ and performing at the 52nd Grammy Awards in 2010.

Known for his sultry voice and themes that include life, his inspirations and his belief that love should be returned, Drake is one artist you should definitely catch on his Australian tour.

When was Drake last in Australia?

The last time Drake had a tour in Australia was in 2017 for his ‘Boy Meets World’ tour in Rod Laver Arena, Spark Arena and Qudos Bank Arena.  Drake went all out and gave us some of the best performances of his career. With changing backdrops for every song and Drake’s energy at an all-time high, it couldn’t have been any more perfect.

Even though they were arena performances, Drake has the capability of making everyone in the crowd feel as though they are part of an intimate set. From the moment he emerged on stage, dressed in a custom OVO jacket and standing atop a rising platform, Drake commanded the crowd with his energy and charisma. Drake warmed up his vocal cords with hit favourites such as ‘The Motto’, and back-to-back Rihanna tracks ‘Work’ and ‘Too Good’. He then went on to the evergreen ‘Hotline Bling’ , club favourite ‘One Dance’ and many more through the night.

Will Drake go on tour in 2024?

The possibility of having a Drake in Australia is pretty high, considering Drake surprise-released his new hit album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ and his collaboration album with 21 Savage ‘Her Loss’ topping the charts right now.  Both albums were produced by some of the usual suspects of the OVO world like Gordo, Black Coffee and Drake’s favourite ‘40’ Shebib.

While there are no dates announced, we are hoping there will soon be more information on when we can expect Drake in Australia.

Who is opening for Drake’s Australian concert in 2024?

‘Honestly, Nevermind’ mixes Drake's cool vocals with a nice blend of Baltimore club and tech house. Drake’s albums are usually sprinkled with verses from friends like Lil Wayne, Jorja Smith and Rihanna.

The album had only one feature and that was 21 Savage. Can we expect a 21 Savage opening with this new album release? We can only hope! Other potential openers we would suggest are Australian cream-of-the-crop rappers like Tkay Maidza and Sampa the Great.

How much are Drake tickets?

For the current USA tour the ticket prices are between $180 and $300 USD. For Drake’s last tour in Australia ‘Boy Meets World’ tickets went for around $199 for general admission and reserved seating.

It can be expected that if Drake is to tour Australia once again in 2024, the ticket prices will be around $270 to $300 AUD as this is what the tickets are being sold for in the USA.
