About

Macklemore Tickets

Macklemore is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from America. Formerly a part of the duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Macklemore has released four albums independently. He  worked professionally alongside Ryan Lewis from 2009 to 2017 releasing songs such as ‘Can’t Hold Us’,  ‘Same Love’, ‘Downtown’. Macklemore then went on to release ‘Glorious’ and ‘Good Old Days’ in his most recent era as a solo artist, which has included his albums ‘Gemini’ and ‘Ben’.

Born in Seattle, Washington, Macklemore began his career in music in 2000 when he released three eps ‘Open Your Eyes’, ‘The Language of My World’, and ‘The Unplanned Mixtape’. After these releases he received international recognition and partnered up with Ryan Lewis until 2017 when he became a solo artist once again.

His song with Skylar Grey ‘Glorious’ was his comeback to music in 2017 after a 6 year hiatus where he wrote new music and focused on his family life.

Returning from Hiatus

Macklemore’s return from a 6-year career break was legendary as he came back with his 2023 album titled ‘Ben’ which debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200. This is extremely impressive after coming back from a break as long as the one Mackelmore took.

Macklemore has revealed that during his hiatus he spent his time hanging out with his family and writing songs with the help of his seven-year old daughter, which he posted on Tiktok during the COVID-19 lockdown.

His latest album ‘Ben’ is his third studio album during his solo career and the music is influenced by his alcohol addiction during the COVID-19 pandemic, which he has since recovered from. The album features other famous artists such as Tones and I, Morray, and Jackson Lee Morgan. The album was overall met with positive reviews.
