About

Megan Thee Stallion on Tour

Megan Thee Stallion is a live dynamo — and not just for the gripping, stentorian voice heard on hits like "Hot Girl Summer" and "Big Ole Freak." Megan also shimmies the body electric; she grinds, twerks, bounces and drops low while she raps her raunchy, assured rhymes.

Since breaking out in 2018, Megan has performed at Made in America, OVO Fest, SXSW, Hot 97 Summer Jam, Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash, Yola Día and the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show. In 2019 she joined Meek Mill and Future on their Legendary Nights tour and was booked to play Austin City Limits.

Megan Thee Stallion in Concert

Rapper Megan Pete, aka Megan Thee Stallion, is riding as hot and high as the Texas sun. Born and raised in Houston by a mother who rapped under the name "Holly-Wood," Megan has been in and out of recording studios from a young age. A fan of Southern rap icons Pimp C and Three 6 Mafia (as well as lyrical titan the Notorious B.I.G.), she began writing rhymes at age 16.

As a college student at Prairie View A&M University, she began making a name for herself thanks to her appearances in local rap cyphers. Her booming freestyles — a mix of intricate rhymes and bawdy sex talk — became a hit across social media. After releasing the Make It Hot EP in 2017 and the Tina Snow EP in 2018, she signed to rap powerhouse 300 Entertainment. In 2019, she released her debut mixtape, Fever, which featured guest appearances from Juicy J and DaBaby.

However her biggest splash of the year was, again, on social media, after a Twitter fan tweaked Meg's "Hot Girl" nickname into the wider meme of "Hot Girl Summer." The Top 20 anthem, also named "Hot Girl Summer," featured Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, cementing Megan in the cultural firmament.
