Tems is a Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/self-taught producer that writes, arranges and produces her music with a genre-blending sound that fuses R&B with soul, reggae and more in her own unique way. Over the past few years, she has been on a steady ascent beginning with the release of her early singles 'Mr Rebel' and 'Try Me'.

The Lagos, Nigeria-based artist has featured on international hits 'Fountains' with Drake and 'Essence' by Wizkid, as well as Future'sWait for U'. She also featured on the remix of Khalid and Disclosure's 'Know Your Worth'.

Who Is Tems?

Temilade Openiyi, born 11 June 1995 and professionally known as ‘Tems’, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer. She first blew up the charts with her feature on the WizKid song ‘Essence’, and it has been no stopping since then. The song earned her a much-deserved Grammy nomination, and she soon released her debut EP, “For Broken Ears”. After this release, it was clear that Tems was going to be a fan-favourite not only because of her amazing vocals but also because of her rich melodies and lyrics. ‘Free Mind’, ‘Higher’ and ‘Damages’ helped “For Broken Ears” debut at 28 on the Billboard Charts.

Her second EP “If Orange Was A Place” (2021) was primarily produced by GuiltyBeatz, freeing her up to focus on lyrics and her vocals. The EP was well-received by critics and fans alike. With a simple five-soundtrack list, critics noted that “It's.. music to be enjoyed and understood.”
