Made up of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew "Matty" Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. With a new music to be released in advance to their arrival four singles thus far have already been released: ‘Part of the Band’ in July, ‘Happiness’ in August, and last month’s ‘I’m in Love With You’ and ‘All I Need to Hear’.

With four albums already under their belts, The 1975, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, and Notes on a Conditional Form, their forthcoming album Being Funny in a Foreign Language will make it their fifth.  Described as a fusion of many different genres of pop from funk to electronic, Healy has stated that their influence is "heavily rooted" in African-American music in many interviews as well as describing the band as "a post-modern pop band that references a million things. I don't even know what my band is half the time."

Tour

The English pop rock band is making their first return to Australia since they played at Laneway Festival in 2020!

The 1975 first toured Australia in 2013, as part of their debut album tour. The tour was a success, with the band playing four sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne. The tour also included performances in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. 

Since then, The 1975 have returned to Australia for several headline tours, as well as festival appearances. In 2015, the band played seven headline shows in Australia, as part of their ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’ tour. This included two sold out shows at the Sydney Opera House, as well as performances at Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival and Southbound Festival.   

The band returned to Australia in 2018, as part of their ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ tour. The tour included seven headline shows, as well as festival appearances at Groovin The Moo and Laneway Festival.
