Divine Ikubor, known as Rema, is a Nigerian singer, rapper, and songwriter born on May 1, 2000. He gained fame with a viral freestyle on Instagram in 2018 and began his professional career in 2019 with his debut single "Dumebi." He released his self-titled EP *Rema* and *Rema Freestyle* in 2019.

Rema’s debut album, *Rave & Roses* (2022), achieved commercial success, debuting at number 81 on the Billboard 200 and featuring the hit single "Calm Down," which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the U.S. Billboard Afrobeats Songs chart for 58 weeks. His fourth EP, *Ravage*, was released in 2023, followed by his second album, *HEIS*, in 2024, with the lead single "Benin Boys" featuring Shallipopi.

Born in Benin City, Nigeria, Rema discovered his love for music in secondary school. After losing his father and elder brother, he was raised by his mother. His career took off after D'Prince signed him to Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records. Rema's distinctive style, blending Afrobeats with other influences, has garnered a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim, marking him as a significant figure in the global rise of Afrobeats.
