HAWTHORN HAWKS TICKETS 2024

About

The Hawthorn Hawks are the youngest Victorian-based team in the AFL. Founded in 1902 in the Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn, the Hawks are the only team to have won premierships in every decade up to, and including, the 2010s. The club has participated in the finals series in 6 of the past 12 years, and won three consecutive premierships in 2013, 2014 and 2015, making it the most successful club in the last 50 years. However, the departure of iconic coach Alastair Clarkson, paired with the youngest list in the AFL has forced a major change at the club whereby Hawthorn have struggled to recapture the same strength they showed throughout the 2010s. With solid progression in 2023, and an extra year of experience to its young players, Hawthorn will look to make another jump in season 2024, in an attempt to reach the pinnacle of success.

The team play their home matches at the MCG, and will play an additional four at the University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston given their large Tasmanian following.

Hawthorn Hawks 2024 AFL Season

Key 2024 Hawthorn Hawks matches:

Matchup with Essendon (rd 1) Saturday v Essendon.

Easter Monday (rd 4) Monday vs Geelong

Round 19 Vs Collingwood at the MCG

After having a really strong finish to last year's 2023 AFL season, where they beat Brisbane, Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs towards the back end of the year, the young Hawks squad will look to carry that same momentum into the 2024 season. Hawthorn were very busy in the offseason, in an attempt to quickly improve their list, and get back to winning premierships. Hawthorn's new look forward line in the 2024 season will excite its fans. They brought in tall forward Mabior Chol, to pair with star forward Mitch Lewis, and brought back cult hero Jack Gunston after a year at Brisbane. In addition to adding big forward targets, Hawthorn traded for premiership player, Jack Ginnivan, and drafted small forward Nick Watson, who will both bring energy, fire and intensity to the forward line. Hawthorn fans have much to look forward to, with a super bright future ahead.

Will Hawthorn Hawks Fans Need AFL Grand Final Tickets?

Despite finishing in the bottom 4 in season 2023, Hawthorn had a super positive finish to the year, where they won 2 of their last 3 games, with impressive wins over Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs. With the expected continue uprise of young stars in Jai Newcombe, Will Day and Dylan Moore, Hawthorn will look to continue to improve and impress the rest of the competition in season 2024. Whilst they are not considered a chance to play finals in season 2024, the internal belief at Hawthorn is strong, with a young and motivated list wanting to prove everyone wrong, and bring its loyal and passionate fans success once more.

Arguably the team's biggest rivalry is against Essendon, with whom they have had a decades-long battle for supremacy, at the very least since Dermott Brereton's era. The famous 'line in the sand' match in 2004 was an all-out melee between the two teams, which remains front of mind whenever the Hawks play against the Bombers. This year, the infamous rivals will clash at the MCG in Round 1 for a second straight year, ensuring a dramatic start for both teams to season 2024.
