Optus Stadium, previously known as Perth Stadium, is a versatile venue situated in Burswood, Perth, Western Australia. Completed in late 2017 and inaugurated on January 21, 2018, it boasts a total capacity of 61,266, expandable to 65,000 seats for rectangular sports, making it Australia's third-largest stadium. The stadium primarily hosts Australian rules football and cricket events, serving as the new home ground for Perth's AFL teams, the Fremantle Football Club and the West Coast Eagles. Additionally, the Perth Scorchers now hold their Big Bash League home games at Optus Stadium, having previously played at the WACA Ground.
Built by a consortium led by Multiplex, the selection of the Burswood location in June 2011 concluded several prior proposals for the stadium, including Subiaco and East Perth sites. Notably, Optus Stadium received the 2019 World Prix Versailles award in the Sports category, recognized as the World Architecture and Design Award.
