RIHANNA AUSTRALIAN TOUR TICKETS

About

Robyn Rihanna Fenty is a Barbadian artist and businesswoman. After bursting on the scene in 2005 with her hit song ‘Pon De Replay’ she became the new face of the summer.  When Jay-Z, the newly appointed CEO of Def Jam, listened to her demos for the first time, he was a bit sceptical. But on meeting her in person and listening to her voice in the flesh, he knew he couldn’t let her leave Def Jam without signing a contract.

Following her album release of ‘Music of the Sun’ (2005), Rihanna continued to play shows in the United States after permanently moving from her home country of Barbados. Her style grew with her and she released ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ (2007) with a new take on songwriting. This album set the tone for her future releases like ‘Rated R’ (2009), ’Loud’ (2010), ‘Talk That Talk’ (2011) and ‘Unapologetic’ (2012). Her grungy, unapologetic sound was what set her apart from the other female solo artists of her time. Her last album ‘Anti’ (2016) was a critical success internationally. Featuring SZA, Drake, Travis Scott and a cover of Tame Impala’s “Same Ol’ Mistakes”, the album was a reflection of the rich songwriting chops Rihanna held, as well the diverse range she has as an artist. Can we expect a Rihanna Aus Tour in 2023? Read on to find out!

Will Rihanna come to Australia?

Rihanna performed at the Super Bowl LVI Half time show! That can hopefully only mean one thing - a new album release?

In 2019, Rihanna teased working on a Reggae album and mentioned plans for releasing it later in the year. Since she never released that album, could this be the year we see gold? A Rihanna World Tour that includes Australia and New Zealand is definitely long due.

Post Rihanna’s ‘Unapologetic’ album release in 2012, she took a hiatus from producing music lasting about four years,  only performing live for her ‘Diamonds’ tour in 2013. As any music lover knows, Rihanna's last tour, the ‘Anti World Tour’,  was a spectacular display of talent and showmanship. From the stunning set design and costumes to her powerhouse vocals, every aspect of the show was top-notch.

The set list was a blend of old favourites and new hits, showcasing Rihanna's impressive range as both a pop star and R&B artist. But what truly made the tour stand out were the special guest appearances, including Drake, Travi$ Scott, Big Sean, and even surprise appearances by Kanye West and Jay Z. It truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fans lucky enough to attend one of the sold-out shows. Which makes you think - who do you reckon will support Rihanna for her 2023 Australian tour?

Is Rihanna touring in 2023?

With RiRi, one can only hope for the best possible outcome. As an artist, she is definitely elusive. She tends to have an air of mystery and keeps her tour secrets airtight. Following the release of her mysterious ‘ANTIdiaRy’ videos on a website created specifically for the release of her eighth studio album,  we’re counting on the fact that her Super Bowl performance will only provide us with more clues as to when this once in a lifetime event will take place.

When did Rihanna last tour Australia?

The last time Rihanna graced Oceania was in 2013. The Diamonds World tour was the fifth in her series of live performances for her album releases. After announcing the tour in September, she kicked off in North America and then made her way through Europe, Asia and Africa before finally coming down to Australia. Critics said that her vocals were mesmerising and she was a captivating performer throughout all of her tracks. Can you imagine being in an arena with 70,000 people all yelling the words to ‘Stay’? Goosebumps!
