Rod Stewart is a British singer-songwriter and musician who has achieved international fame as a solo artist and as a member of the band Faces. He has had a long and successful career that has spanned over five decades and has sold over 100 million records worldwide. He is best known for his distinctive raspy voice and his unique blend of rock, folk, soul, and R&B.

Stewart began his career in the 1960s as a member of the band the Jeff Beck Group, before embarking on a solo career in 1967. He released his debut solo album, An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down, in 1969 and it became an instant hit. Over the next few years, he released a string of successful albums, including Every Picture Tells a Story (1971), Never a Dull Moment (1972), and Smiler (1974).

In the late 1970s, Stewart began to move away from his rock roots and explore a more adult-oriented sound. His albums Atlantic Crossing (1975) and A Night on the Town (1976) both achieved platinum status and featured hits such as "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)", "The Killing of Georgie", and "You Wear It Well".
Stewart continued to have success throughout the 1980s and 1990s with albums such as Foolish Behaviour (1980), Out of Order (1988), and Vagabond Heart (1991). His 1994 album, A Spanner in the Works, was a return to his rock roots and featured the hit single "Leave Virginia Alone". In the 2000s, Stewart released several albums that showcased his signature sound and featured collaborations with artists such as Stevie Wonder and Mary J. Blige. His most recent album, Blood Red Roses, was released in 2018 and was a critical and commercial success.

Throughout his career, Stewart has been honored with numerous awards and accolades, including two Grammy Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, and a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2016.
