GWS GIANTS AFL TICKETS 2024

About

GWS Giants are the newest team to join the AFL, having made their debut in 2012.

They are one of only two Sydney based teams, along with their biggest rivals, Sydney Swans. The Giants play their home games at the Spotless Stadium in Sydney, and also at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. In the nine AFL seasons that GWS has competed in, they have made the finals four times. 2019 was a massive year for the club, marking their first-ever AFL Grand Final appearance, and their first-ever Coleman Medallist in Jeremy Cameron. The Giants were the best team on the road in 2023 and were within 1 point of making the 2023 AFL Grand Final. There are high expectations for Adam Kingsley in 2024.

GWS GIANTS 2024 AFL SEASON

Key 2024 GWS Giants matches:

The Giants hosts Collingwood in Round 0 at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday 9th March.

The Battle of the Bridge will take place in Round 8 v the Swans at the SCG and again Round 15 at the GIANTS Stadium.

Round 11 v Geelong at the GIANTS Stadium on Saturday 25th May.

The Giants' impressive performance in the latter half of the 2023 season, losing only three games from Round 13 onwards, including a close prelim against Collingwood, positions them as a potential top-four contender in 2024. While acknowledging the challenge of sustaining such success, the focus is on recapturing the magic that made them one of the AFL's hottest teams and drawing inspiration from teams like Collingwood, who rebounded successfully after a one-point prelim loss.

Will Greater Western Sydney Giants Fans Need AFL Grand Final Tickets?

Despite being preliminary finalists, there's a controversial prediction placing the GWS Giants outside of the contenders due to concerns about coach Adam Kingsley replicating his debut season success. The team's vulnerability, evident in struggles when key players like Sam Taylor were injured, raises doubts about their depth for a deep September run. The performance of standout player Toby Greene, who had a stellar year, is seen as pivotal, requiring another level to maintain the team's contention.
