The next Ashes series will take place from November 2025 and finish in January 2026.

The Ashes 2025/26 will be held in Australia, meaning English fans must prepare for very late nights if they don't travel down under.

Five venues will be confirmed in sometime in 2024 with matches traditionally held at Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

One guarantee is that the Boxing Day Test match will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and given the series starts in November, we can predict the match will be the fourth Test.

The Ashes is a test match between England and Australia, dating back to 1882 when Australia came out Victorious at The Oval. This was a major moment in cricket history, being our first win on British soil. As a result, the British media satirically announced their pledge to “regain those ashes”, coining the name for the particular tour—though it took a number of years for the term to catch one. Taking the banter even further, a group of Melbournians handed the English captain an urn after several wins by our Commonwealth opponents.

The Ashes series five tests, and it is commonly hosted by the country that most recently won the series, with the responsibility oscillating between England and Australia, every few years. If the series results in a draw, the current trophy holders get to keep the prized possession.
