SYDNEY ASHES CRICKET TICKETS 2025/26

It has now been announced that Sydney will host the 5th Ashes Test match between Australia and England starting on January 4, 2026

The Ashes in Sydney

The Ashes series wraps up in the Harbour City as the famous Sydney Cricket Ground plays host to the 5th and final test match of the summer.

With the potential of everything to play for heading into this Test Match, there will be much hype around this match.

The Sydney test is commonly known as the 'Pink Test', as Australian Legend Glenn McGrath runs his annual Jane McGrath Foundation Fundraiser, with Day 3 of the test acting as 'Pink Day', in which everyone dress with a piece of pink clothing.

Given the ageing state of the Australian squad, could this test be a potential swansong for some of our longstanding greats of the test side? If so, you do not want to miss this showstopper to what poses as being a brilliant series.

About The SCG

To most sports fans, The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is a sacred place, which is full of wonder. The SCG is another of Australia’s multipurpose stadium that is used by Cricket Australia for all formats of the game, rugby league football, rugby union, and association football. The ground is home for the New South Wales Blues cricket team, the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash, and the Sydney Swans in the AFL. Due to the soil used is from New South Wales, the SCG is considered to be a spin-friendly ground.

The first First-class game held was the inter-colonial game between New South Wales and Victoria, on 22nd, 23rd and 25th February in 1878. Test cricket however, remains the premier event on SCGs calendar. The SCG has hosted Test matches between England and Australia since as far back as 1882. Another reason to come watch the Sydney test is for the wonderful Glen and Jane McGrath breast cancer foundation.

The Sydney pink test has become the most focal point of the partnership between Cricket Australia and the McGrath foundation. 2019 marked the 11th year of the Pink Test and raised over $1.3 million. Traditionally, on day 3 of the Pink Test, the entire SCG turns pink to honour the Glen and Jane McGrath foundation whilst raising money.
