WEST COAST EAGLES AFL TICKETS 2024

About

The West Coast Eagles are a Perth based team, playing their home ground games at the recently built Optus Stadium in Perth. The first team from Western Australia to join the AFL, West Coast retains a large following, and always attracts large crowds at their Home and Away matches. In 2023, it was  released that the West Coast Eagles club membership numbers totalled to 103,275, the second highest amongst all clubs!

The West Coast Eagles were formed in 1986. They played their first season the following year, in 1987. They made it to their first grand final in 1991, which they lost to Hawthorn, but they won the big dance in both 1992 and 1994. Those two Grand Final victories made the Eagles one of the best teams of 1990s. They won a third flag in 2006, but went into something of a slump after that. They finished last in 2010, but bounced back to secure fourth place on the ladder the following year. They made it to their sixth Grand Final in 2015, but Hawthorn toppled them yet again. They took down Collingwood in 2018, earning them their fourth Premiership and cementing their place as the best non-Victorian team in modern AFL.

West Coast Eagles 2024 AFL Season

Key 2024 West Coast Eagles Matches:

Western Derby Trophy 57 (rd 6) Saturday vs. Fremantle

Western Derby Trophy 58 (rd 20) vs. Fremantle

The West Coast Eagles faced a challenging 2023 season, exacerbated by injuries that led them to a disappointing performance, and, unfortunately, receiving the wooden spoon. The season was considered a reset, marking the beginning of a rebuilding phase. Young first year talents like Reuben Ginbey, Elijah Hewett, and Noah Long, acquired in the 2022 draft, displayed promise, but the team recognized the need for more young talent after neglecting the draft in previous years. After much discussion involving the Eagles, and whether or not they would trade Pick 1 in the draft, to acquire multiple early picks, the Eagles decided to hold their pick, and take the best young player in the country, in Harley Reid, who will bring much excitement to all West Coast fans!

Despite a challenging 2023, the Eagles are hopeful for improved on-field performance in the upcoming season, especially if they maintain better overall health. Escaping the bottom two remains a significant challenge, but the team aims for increased competitiveness and a more positive outcome in the 2024 AFL season.

West Coast will be led by new co-captains in Season 2024, with Oscar Allen and Liam Duggan taking on the co-captaincy together.

Will West Coast Eagles Fans Need AFL Grand Final Tickets?

With the last few years being challenging for the West Coast Eagles, and its loyal fans, 2024 brings more hope and promise, that its young talent can begin to have small wins, that will eventually bring West Coast back to the top end of the ladder in the near future. With West Coast being well and truly in their rebuilding phase, it is expected that they will be near the bottom of the ladder, with minimal wins, however, seeing the growth and development of its young players is something to look forward to! West Coast will continue to focus on rebuilding and increasing competitiveness in season 2024, and hopefully improve their win tally in comparison to last year.
