The 40 regular-season matches are spread across 11 BBL venues in 2026-27. Finals venues aren't included below, as they will be determined by the final standings. 

Big Bash Venues by size

Big Bash venues range from some of Australia’s largest sporting stadiums to smaller grounds that host only a handful of matches during the season.

Larger stadiums include the MCG, Optus Stadium, Adelaide Oval and the Gabba. Together, these four venues host 21 of the 40 regular-season matches in 2026-27 and offer a range of seating areas and ticket categories.

Mid-sized venues include the SCG, ENGIE Stadium and Ninja Stadium in Hobart, which host matches for the Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes respectively.

Smaller venues on the schedule include Junction Oval in Melbourne, Manuka Oval in Canberra and University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston. These grounds complement the larger stadiums and bring Big Bash matches to more locations throughout the season.

The Chennai Match

The 2026-27 season marks a first for the Big Bash League, with a regular-season match being played outside Australia for the first time. Melbourne Renegades take on Perth Scorchers at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India, on 12 December 2026, opening the new season.

The Renegades are designated as the home team for the fixture, making Chennai one of the 11 venues hosting Big Bash cricket in 2026-27.
