In 2023, the Dolphins joined Australia's NRL for the first time, led by coach Wayne Bennett and captain Jesse Bromwich. They didn't make the finals but secured a 13th place finish, surpassing four established teams. Jamayne Isaako, their winger, made history by scoring the most tries and points in the NRL season, a milestone untouched since 1990 by Mal Meninga of the Canberra Raiders.

During Round 9, the Dolphins lost a close 30-31 game against the Canberra Raiders in their first golden point match at McDonalds Park, Wagga Wagga. The NRL later admitted that officials missed a crucial knock-on by Canberra, impacting the game's outcome. In Round 13, an illegal try was awarded to the St. George Illawarra Dragons in their 26-12 loss to the Dolphins at Kayo Stadium, a decision that wouldn't have changed the game's result even if overturned.

The Dolphins' Inaugural Presentation Ball in September at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre revealed the club's annual awards: Academic Award: Euan Aitken (for ongoing MBA studies), Adventure Kings Fan-Voted MVP: Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Arthur Beetson Medal Player of the Year: Jamayne Isaako, Best Back: Jamayne Isaako, Best Forward: Mark Nicholls, Club Person of the Year: Shane Morris (Dolphins' Game Development Manager), Most Consistent: Jamayne Isaako, Players' Player: Jamayne Isaako, and Rookie of the Year: Isaiya Katoa.

In 2023, the Dolphins will host seven out of their twelve home games at the 52,500-capacity Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, one at Sunshine Coast Stadium, and three at Kayo Stadium in Redcliffe. Kayo Stadium, which doubles as their training and administration base, will also host three other games. Additionally, Optus Stadium in Perth will hold one home game for the Dolphins in Round 23 against the Newcastle Knights, coinciding with a double-header featuring the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

The Dolphins have twelve home games in 2023, with seven at Brisbane's 52,500-capacity Suncorp Stadium, one at Sunshine Coast Stadium, and three at Kayo Stadium in Redcliffe, which is also their training base. Additionally, they'll play one game at Optus Stadium in Perth in Round 23, coinciding with a double-header alongside the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, against the Newcastle Knights.

The pre-season challenges for the Dolphins in 2024 include several matches. It begins with a trial against the Central Queensland Capras on February 10th in Rockhampton. Following that, in Round 1 on February 18th, they face off against the Gold Coast Titans at Sunshine Coast. Then, in Round 2 on February 24th, they play against the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland.

In the upcoming 2024 season, marking the Dolphins' second year in the NRL, various player movements have occurred during the previous season, off-season, and pre-season. Jake Averillo from Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, contracted until 2026. Herbie Farnworth from Brisbane Broncos, contracted until 2026. Thomas Flegler from Brisbane Broncos, contracted until 2027. Oryn Keeley from Newcastle Knights, contracted until 2026. Herman Ese'ese to Hull FC in the Super League. Poasa Faamausili to Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
