During the 2006 Tri Nations Series, on July 29th, the Bledisloe Cup match marked the return of the All Blacks and the Wallabies to Brisbane after more than a decade. Although Australia narrowly lost the match, it resulted in a new attendance record at the ground.

This match held additional significance as it marked Australia's first hosting of a Bledisloe Cup match against New Zealand outside of Sydney or Brisbane since 1986. The long-awaited return of the Cup to Brisbane delighted fans who eagerly anticipated their team facing the formidable All Blacks on home turf after over a decade. Despite Australia's loss, their valiant performance set a new attendance record, a testament to their pride and dedication on the field.

Numerous NRL fixtures are scheduled at Suncorp Stadium in 2024, all serving as home games for the Suncorp Stadium. In Round 1, the Dolphins will take on the Cowboys.
